Recently I’ve gotten into Pinterest and it’s a really good online artwork/image pinning board. It’s a bit like Tumblr and Instagram but even better. I could spend all day repining beautiful typography that I’ve found on Pinterest. From looking at them, and building my collection of people’s pins, I couldn’t help but rebrand myself by updating my existing logo to make it look more decoratively, cursive-script rather than just a cursive script type. Hope I don’t come across as being complicated from all the swirly lines that sometimes criss, cross over each other. The swirls form into puffs of smoke, which makes my logo seem oriental-looking. I’m thinking of oriental-baroque art/repeat patterns. Mmmm.. well it’s not that detailed.
As for the business cards, I came up with two different back versions: one with the fruit and vegetables that I’ve illustrated many years ago; and the second one is a blown up, cropped segments of my white logo on a blue background. Overall, the colourful version incites the feeling that this designer grew up watching Japanese anime and obviously eating fruits and vegetables is a huge factor in her life. As for the blue background one, it elicits old chinese women, drinking tea from their china cups and puffing out smoke. Would you like to take your pick?
